              Unofficial SuperCupcakeTactics Anthology 2008-2024

This is a compilation of various Doom maps released by SuperCupcakeTactics over the past decade (or thereabouts).

It is split into two 32-map packs: SCT_solo.wad & SCT_proj.wad. The first file contains standalone solo works (with a couple exceptions), while the second wad contains contributions to various community map packs (chiefly Doomer Boards Projects).

Both wads are designed for engines with MBF21 support (GZDoom/DSDA/Woof/Nugget).
While most of the included maps were originally targeting limit-removing ports, this compilation combines all of their custom decorations, which bumps up the requirements. This also allowed porting shattering glass effects to a wider variety of ports.

The oldest included maps were originally designed for Skulltag, and have been adapted to Boom format in this compilation. Aside from these (maps 21-30 of SCT_solo), you *might* be able to get away with playing the rest of the maps in complevel 2, though this has not been tested, and dehacked handling could depend on the port.

Additionally, GZDoom players can make use of SCT_proj_GZfx.pk3. This file contains a color-grading shader to mimic the custom palettes used in a few maps, as well as dynamic light definitions and brightmaps for certain decorations. Simply load it together with SCT_proj.wad in any order.

    Changes compared to the original maps:
===============================================================================

The intent was to keep the maps as intact as possible, but some changes had to be made due to the nature of merging assets from multiple limit-removing wads. For most maps this is limited to changing the object numbers and renaming the textures in cases of conflicts. These changes were automated and "low-level", not requiring rebuilding nodes or even opening the maps in editor.

The maps adapted from Skulltag had to be modified quite a bit more, but should for the most part look and play identically to the originals. A couple redundant enemy variants were not ported over, and exits had to be added to a couple maps.

Two of the "Chaos Theory" maps (SCT_solo, maps 12 & 13) had unfinished areas and were not beatable. The first of these ("Emotional Color Engine") has been significantly expanded for this compilation with additional areas and encounters. The other ("Nailed Flesh Surveillance") has been left mostly unchanged, tweaked only just enough to fix the broken progression. In both cases, the added/edited areas are visually separated from SCT's original geometry by barriers with holographic caution tape.

  fixed two shotgunners not spawning (ambush flag)

"Nailed Flesh Surveillance"
  marked the edge of the unfinished area (SW) with "caution tape"
  fixed the unfinished area progression:
    - linked switches to nearby doors, previously unopenable
    - blocked off the top of the shortcut elevator with an extra door
    - added the red key to a previously empty openable niche
  fixed certain doors and simplified sector tagging throughout the map
  fixed some secret sectors, previously un-triggerable due to elevation

"Ow, the Edge!" 03
  fixed blue doors not opening
  fixed a potential softlock (SE): a fence wasn't marked as impassable

"Coffee Click Caligraphy"
  fixed a potential softlock at the chainsaw (N)
  tweaked MIDI channels for better playback on devices with limited polyphony

"Hell Keep" ("Final Countdown" 02)
  marked chaingun as a secret

"Dirty Ridge" ("Final Countdown" 03)
  changed the platforming section to not require jumping
  marked secret exit as secret (leads to the same map as regular exit)
